Introduction

Howdy. I’m a cynical and distrustful fellow; a fierce opponent and a dedicated friend. You’ll never doubt which one you are.

I design automated solutions using application development software. That’s a lot of words. I mean to be clear and sometimes, especially in this industry (The Software Industrial Complex), we tend to couch our words because we rarely know what we’re saying and we always want a chance to weasel out of a tight spot if we can.

Not me. I want to be absolutely clear.

I am not a coder. I am not a developer. I am not an architect. I’m not a designer. Each of those are skeleton words on which the lazy hang their own definitions. We practice this because our culture cannot pay attention for more than five seconds and we want affirmation. So we say things like, “I’m a developer.” Or, “I’m a designer.”

The other guppies nod and pretend they understand and then they look at their cell phones again. They’re searching for affirmation and significance in all the wrong places, too.

We expect those who don’t know us to attach some significance to those words because impressive people have gone before and used those words. We desire nothing more than to rob their honor for our benefit.

My honor is small and insignificant. I do not wish for your affirmation. So what am I doing here?

I have two missions:

I want a place to express my opinions where I can direct folks if they want to know what I think.

Secondly, I want a place to store my discoveries and inventions in both .NET and Microsoft Dynamics D365 Business Central.

You’ll find my opinions and confessions in the Craftsmanship and Opinion sections.

You’ll find my technical discoveries in the .NET and Business Central sections.

For now, much of the site is empty. I moved it and I’m now in the process of back-filling those pages. Be patient.

I’m not.
